About The Artist
Lyndsey is a self-taught artist with a background that mixes fine-art, illustration and design. Leaving school she joined Royal Crown Derby as a figurine painter, a role which included a demonstration tour to Canada. Later working as a freelance illustrator and designer she supplied illustrations for cards, children’s books and calendars to many major international publishers. She also designed a tableware range called “Storm” for Denby Pottery which is still in stores worldwide.
Since 1994 Lyndsey has concentrated solely on her Wildlife Art. Painting from her own reference photographs gathered from trips to Africa, her style includes both a tight photographic feel and a more recent looser, more atmospheric look. Experimenting with larger brushes, splashes and spatters gives Lyndsey’s later work a raw unfinished look which is very distinctive.
Her award winning paintings are widely collected, and have sold successfully at auction at Christies and through numerous galleries and exhibitions. A range of Lyndsey’s work is published as Limited Edition Prints by Solomon & Whitehead and Lyndsey also has a range of self published prints available, either direct from Lyndsey or selected partners.
In 2006 Lyndsey held her first solo exhibition of originals. The success of the exhibition means that it is now an annual event, where Lyndsey will show new, unseen work. The exhibition is a must for the serious collector.
Lyndsey continues to support many conservation projects both locally and internationally working with the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation donating originals for fund raising auctions and supplying prints to sell through their brochure.
